    Streaming & downloads on Korean platforms contribute to digital sales. This is the most important music show criteria (highest %), and is also factored into end-of-year shows. Charting high will promote the song to casual users of the streaming platforms and increase an artist’s visibility in Korea.The amount of streams and downloads are reflected on the realtime (hourly) and daily/weekly charts. They contribute to the final digital score on music shows:
    • directly: carry more weight according to platform’s popularity, more users👥 = more points📈
    • indirectly: through CIRCLE⭕️ chart    The CIRCLE digital chart (formerly GAON) is made up of a combination of downloads, streaming and BGM (background music). Downloads are given more weight than streams. It uses data from several platforms such as melon, genie, flo, vibe, bugs, spotify (KR), apple music (KR), …Charts count the unique listeners & downloads over the tracking period. Only 1 DL is counted per account, and 1 unique listener per tracking period (ex. hourly).     Bugs is a Korean streaming platform where international fans could make their own account before July 2022. Currently, a korean # is needed to make a new account. iOS users can buy a streaming pass via the apple store, android users have to buy from a vendor. Download passes can only be bought with korean payment methods. 7DREAMERS is providing download coupons and accounts for international InSomnia. Click the Bugs Project link to learn more!

    Genie is one of the biggest Korean streaming platforms, but buying passes requires a Korean phone number. As of January 2021, internional InSomnia can no longer make an account.     Melon & Flo are streaming platforms that contribute to digital scores of every music show. It's not possible to buy passes without a Korean phone # or payment methods, but for InSomnia that are interested to use these platforms, passes can be bought from a vendor. 7DREAMERS set up a collaboration with a partner shop to offer discounts on accounts and passes.     MUSIC SHOWS

    When dreamcatcher promotes on Music Shows, they will be eligible to win starting from the week after the release. Each music show has different criteria for their ranking, but the common main categories are digitals, physical albums, MV views, broadcast & votes.Every music show will track data for a week (ex. Monday to Sunday). Only data from that week will count for the final scores, and they reset every week.All scores on music shows are relative - meaning they depend on the scores of the other artists that are eligible. The artist with the highest amount (of sales, views, votes, …) will get the maximum score (for all shows except music bank). The scores of the other artists are calculated based on the gap with the winner for the criteria.Making the effort to vote, stream & participate in projects within your means will support Dreamcatcher and help them obtain a better score for Music Shows!Below you can find the specific criteria and percentages for each show.     YOUTUBE STREAMING

    Increasing the Music Video views on Youtube is a great way for international InSomnia to support Dreamcatcher. Not only does it help on their overall growth, it also counts towards their score on Music Shows! Check out the youtube streaming guide "do & don'ts" below.

    PHYSICAL ALBUMS

    Buying physical albums is one of the most direct ways to support dreamcatcher. If you have the means to, make sure to buy it from stores that count towards the Hanteo chart! You can check for Hanteo certified vendors by looking for the Hanteo logo on the website, or by going to the Hanteo family site.For US/PR InSomnia, you can buy the album from US stores that are both Hanteo & Billboard certified. In order for your purchase to count for billboard, you must order 4 albums or less per transaction, and it must be shipped to a US territory.     DIGITAL STREAMING/DLQ1 - I can't find Genie/Bugs in the app store/google play store.
    A1 - Genie and Bugs are korean streaming platforms. This is why they are only available on the South Korean Apple Store or Play Store. If you are not from South Korea, you can still download the App downloading an APK file (android) or changing your apple ID region (iOS).    Guide: how to change your app store locationAlternatively, you can also stream or download via desktop by visiting the web browsers for genie and bugsQ2 - I tried to register for a genie account but it doesn't let me
    A2 - International fans can no longer register for a Genie account if they do not have a korean phone number. Genie changed their policy in January 2021. If you have an existing Genie account created before this you can still use them to stream (streaming does not require verified accounts)! You can stream by purchasing a genie pass via a vendor or participating in 7Dreamers projects.    Q3 - Can I re-download the same song again on my account?
    A3 - No, Bugs and Genie only track your first download per account so please don't download the same song twice on the same account. If you have additional accounts for genie, you can delete the song first before downloading with a different account on the same device.    Q4 - Do I need to redeem my download coupon first before purchasing a Bugs streaming pass?
    A4 - No, you can purchase the pass at any time (preferably a day before or the day of the comeback).    Q5 - I have my own genie account. Can I use it to stream/download?
    A5 - Yes it can be used! However there are several things to take into account.
    - unverified accounts (no korean phone number verification) can be used to stream, but cannot download songs.
    - verified accounts (korean phone number verification) can be used to stream and download songs.    You may be able to stream with an unverified account, but buying streaming packages is not possible without korean payment methods (only exception is the 30 day streaming pass for iOS).     A6 - No, you don't need to use a VPN to stream or download. We don't recommend this, as you may be locked from some sites if you access them with VPN (example Naver)    Q7 - I'm trying to sign up for Bugs, but I can't enter my phone number
    A7 - As of July 2022, BUGS only accepts Korean phone numbers for registration. If you already have an account and can login, you can still use it to stream. iOS can purchase a 30 day streaming pass, however for android this is no longer possible. You can buy a streaming pass from a vendor or have a friend with an iOS login to purchase it.

    YOUTUBE STREAMINGQ1 - Can I skip ads?
    A1 - Yes! Skipping ads is fine, just don't skip or fast forward the MV.    Q2 - Can I mute the video while streaming?
    A2 - No, it's recommended to keep the video volume up. You can however mute your tab or device instead without muting the MV.    Q3 - Can I stream the MV from multiple tabs/browsers at the same time?
    A3 - You can stream from different browsers or devices if you have multiple accounts. Do not use multiple tabs in the same browser to stream.    Q4 - Can I stream on the youtube app and the youtube browser?
    A4 - Yes, as long as you follow the guidelines, you can stream on the app or the browser.    Q5 - Can I use a playlist to stream the MV?
    A5 - Playlists are not recommended especially in the first 24 hours after release. This is because views from playlists take longer to get counted, and it's more likely to be flagged as a low quality view and get deleted later on.    Q6 - The youtube views are frozen, what do I do?
    A6 - Continue to stream manually even if views are frozen. Youtube is calculating the views, and your current views will be counted later on.    Q7 - Do embedded links count towards the youtube MV views?
    A7 - Yes, embedded link views also count if you manually click on the video on a website. Do not mute the video, and manually stream & watch other videos in between.

    MUSIC SHOWSQ1 - Does watching the music show performance help for the criteria score?
    A1 - No, views on performance videos (example M Countdown/M2 videos) do not count towards the music show critera.    Q2 - How do I vote for a music show?
    A2 - Different music shows use different apps for pre-vote or live-voting. You can find an overview on 7-dreamers.com, navigate to 'guides' > 'music shows' > and selecting the show & app.    Q3 - I want to vote on Idol Champ but it is only letting me vote once. I can't complete the Idol Champ quiz either to get more chamsims.
    A3 - You need to have participated in the realtime chart 5 times before you have full use of your Idol Champ account. You can find our idol champ guide here    Q4 - Does streaming on spotify/apple music count towards music show criteria?
    A4 - Spotify and apple music do not count for music shows unless you have a korean account. In that case, streams are incorporated in the CIRCLE digital chart. However for US/PR InSomnia, itunes sales and spotify/apple music streams do count for Billboard 200!

    OTHERQ1 - Which store is better/safer to buy albums from?
    A1 - Ideally the store you buy from should count towards the hanteo chart, you can verify this by checking if they have a hanteo certificate on their website or by going to the Hanteo link. Depending on your country there will be different shipping fees from different stores. We recommend checking out different sites to compare so you can make the best choice for you.

    Hanteo tracks album sales by hanteo-certified stores.
